:Introduction
>.margin[ left 8 ] .window[]
It's likely that some people may want a printed
transcript of a virtual book, for various reasons.
The HardCopy program makes printing virtual books on
paper simple. It adds a left margin, numbers the
topics, substitutes "printable" characters for
"unprintable" ones, and compiles a table of topic
names.
HardCopy can also "filter" out the special command
lines virtual books use, print selected topics
(by page number), send the output to disk, and more.
:Options
All the options HardCopy uses are listed in the
HardCopy.Set file. You can edit this file to suit
your own purposes, or just use it as is.
To get started, just enter HARDCOPY at the DOS prompt.
If you don't specify a "source" book, HardCopy will
ask you for one. You can then "target" the output for
a disk file, or just send it to your printer.
If you don't specify a target, your default printer
will be used. Just be sure your printer is on-line
and ready when you start.
